One of the things I have learned is that most people are reluctant or embarrassed to speak with a lawyer about the facts and circumstances of their case. While this is certainly understandable, I can tell you that the chances are good that I have heard a similar story or helped someone in a situation similar to yours. And the simple truth about it is this:
If your attorney does not know everything there is to know about the situation — your defense may not be as good as it could be.
I do not charge a fee for an initial consultation or advice on a case, whether it is over the phone or at my office. Be assured that anything you tell me is absolutely confidential, even if I am not retained as your attorney.
Getting a Second Opinion …
I know that the consequences of a criminal conviction are very serious and do not fault anyone who feels like he or she should get a second opinion. In fact, I am always willing to give potential clients the benefit of my experience and refer them to other criminal defense lawyers in the community.
How Much Will My Defense Cost?
The short answer to this question, for most people, is: not as much as you might think. However, costs for any case — whether it involves domestic violence or a DUI — will depend on the unique facts and circumstances involved.
What I can tell you is that, I almost never charge extra fees if the case goes to trial. The reason I do this is if a person has a good case, he or she should not have to plead guilty just because that person cannot pay the lawyer the extra trial fee. Our Constitution gives every citizen the right to a trial, and I feel strongly this is a right that everyone is entitled to regardless of state in life.
