Consequences of an Extreme DUI Conviction
A conviction for extreme DUI (blood alcohol level .15 or higher) carries a sentence that can range from 30 days to six months in jail. In addition to jail, you can expect your fine to be approximately $3,000. You will also have to attend and pay for mandatory alcohol classes and install an interlock device on your car for one year.
The Super Extreme DUI Enhancement
The Arizona DUI law has been changed to include the super extreme DUI. If a person's blood alcohol is a .20 or higher the jail time is 45 days to 6 months, with fines of about $3500, jail costs, mandatory alcohol classes and an interlock device on your vehicle for 18 months. A super extreme second DUI offense within 7 years is 180 days in jail. The judge may order work release which can be for 5 days per week with release for 12 hours per day for work.
